I love Jesus.
For me to utter these words and they be true is a miracle.
A miracle performed by a God so intentional that the event which birthed my ability to genuinely say these words was planned before the foundation of this world.
A miracle that I contributed nothing to but the sin that required my saving.
A miracle that was solely and graciously performed by a loving Father, an obedient Son, and a life-giving Spirit.
A miracle that required the birth of a baby in a manger and the death of the Saviour on a cross.
A miracle that became my miracle that sunny summer day I believed in the death and resurrection of the One I now love.
A miracle that my human mind so woefully comprehends, but my human heart so wholly accepts.
A miracle that has shown me that God really uses broken vessels for His glory.
That truly His kindness and mercy know no bound.
That truly those that were once lifeless in sin can now declare, with rivers of living water flowing out of their belly, that they love Jesus.
And that the only reason they could make such a declaration is because they have experienced the perfect love of God.
A miracle that often leaves me at the feet of the One I love, returning love songs that He already began to sing over me from the moment I took my first breath.
You see, the love of God is a great miracle in the sense that such a holy God chose to live among us and die our death,
And so is my response to His love.
A response of love and devotion.
I love Jesus; these three words embody a miraculous truth.
A miraculous truth that the Spirit of Truth Himself confirms together with my spirit.
So, I’ll gladly repeat this confirmed truth one more time.
I love Jesus.
“We love him, because he first loved us.”
